Bees and Mankind
Book cover
Synopsis This book attempts to provide an account of the biology of bees, especially those with which man is associated, and to trace man's interest in them from prehistoric times to the present day. It is written in the hope that the reader will become as fascinated by bees and beekeeping as I am, and will appreciate the extent of our indebtedness to the bee. There is a great need to conserve and replenish populations of wild bees, and to encourage the use of honey bees not only for producing honey and wax, but for pollinating our crops and wild flowers, so enhancing the bounty and beauty of our world.
