| Synopsis | A 'bargain' in beehives was advertised for sale, and , on a crazy impulse, the author, who knew nothing at all about bees or beekeeping rushed off and bought it for her London suburban garden. In her ignorance, she thought she would be getting unlimited supplies of honey...but she little realized the costly adventures she was letting herself in for! Me and the Bee is both amusing and instructive. In its quieter passages it 'takes the lid off' the hive to give fascinating glimpses of the complicated life that goes on inside. |
